PoolMeter Test Box

The PoolMeter (which is really a Pool Simulator) is now being trialled. To help check the Poolmeter output, a test box has been developed which can measure the output. The PoolMeter is fully programmable to any output variation can be calibrated out. The picture below shows the PoolMeter outputting 800mV of ORP in Test mode.

PoolMeter


The Poolmeter is a new product designed to test pool chlorinators. It operates as a Pool Simulator and delivers pH levels from 0-14pH and ORP from 100 to 1000mV. The output may be a typical pool output (high impedance) or direct for testing. The PoolMeter runs from a single 9V battery and can be supplied with a ruggedized rubber tilt stand.

Pool Sensor testing

Pool chlorinators are very fragile sensing devices and often need looking after. To assist, it is essential to have an ORP or pH simulator which can be used to check the circuitry of the ppol chlorinator. With a simulator, simply dial up the pH value - say 4.00pH, check the chlorinator reads 4.00pH (with a tolerance of +/-0.1pH) and then flick the 100MR resistor and check the reading is the same after 30seconds or so. If the machine is reading OK, the problem is either in the sensor or the pool.

We usually test the pH values at 4.00pH, 7.00pH and 10.00pH. The same applies for for ORP with reading of 0mV, 400mV and 700mV.

Note that pH sensors are much more sensitive than ORP sensor. A pH sensor gives out 53mV per pH, while an ORP sensor ranges from 0 to 700mV.
